 35th Annual Mayor’s United Nations Day Dinner

 Celebrating

The 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the United Nations

 Join Mayor Kay Barnes and former Kansas City Mayors Missouri State Senator Charles Wheeler (confirmed), Richard Berkley (confirmed) and Congressman Rev. Emanuel Cleaver (invited) in welcoming to Kansas City Jan Egeland of Norway, United Nations Under Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and U.N. Emergency Relief Coordinator.

Under Secretary General Egeland is the senior humanitarian official in the U.N. system. He coordinated the world’s efforts to assist victims of the South Asian tsunami. And he directs ongoing relief efforts to those in need wherever they might be (profile attached).

The presentation of the 2005 Mayor’s World Citizen Award.

Presentation of the First Annual Award and Scholarship to the year’s Outstanding

 Kansas City Area Model U.N. student.
